We are pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded a £400 microgrant through Aldi’s new Community Cupboard initiative for our Food for Scotland programme. The Community Cupboard Campaign involves UK Aldi stores donating extra food to causes that help provide children with sufficient food during school holidays. The initiative also involves awarding microgrants to charities like us who support children’s access to food more generally.
Our Food for Scotland project is our local contribution to ISKCON’s ‘Food for Life Global’ project. Our three principal aims are: 1) feeding and helping the needy 2) promoting healthy and sustainable diets 3) taking care of the environment. This grant is therefore of great value in realising these objectives and continuing to support the more vulnerable members of our local community.
