Our geographical community in South Lanarkshire has suffered Level 3 or Level 4 restrictions for prolonged periods, therefore we are very keen to offer time-proven tools to help local people to recover from the aftereffects of the pandemic and increase their resilience and wellbeing.
To support this work, we are very grateful and delighted to receive £24,810 grant from Scottish Government’s Communities Recovery Fund. The Communities Recovery Fund aims to support community groups, charities, social enterprises, and voluntary organisations in supporting people and communities in responding to the challenges presented by COVID-19.
Firstly, this grant will help us to support our existing emergency services:
1) delivering free meals to people’s homes in our surrounding towns in South Lanarkshire that people can book online
2) providing meals to our partner organisations in Glasgow
3) running online wellbeing services: yoga and meditation sessions
Secondly, the fund will help to support our planned free community recovery services that we will be offering as the restrictions ease:
1) therapeutic gardening
2) community yoga classes
3) community meditation classes
Thirdly, the fund will help us to build a website to make our services easy to find and book.
Our team is looking forward to delivering our services and inviting local people to benefit from them.
