Sunday the 4th of July saw a small crowd of people (due to restrictions) gathering here at the Krishna Eco Farm to attend our #ThankYouDay, a celebration designed to thank all volunteers and team members from the community that helped with activities and projects, such as Food for Scotland, yoga, meditation and therapeutic gardening.
Over many months our drivers have not only been delivering nutritious meals, but also building friendships with our service users, thus, providing much needed wellbeing support as well as food security.
Our weekly yoga, meditation and therapeutic gardening sessions are also scientifically proven effective methods for boosting wellbeing and promoting peace and harmony among people. The #ThankYouDay was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get to know each other better and for some people to meet vital members of the team for the first time, such as the cooks, who are usually working behind the scenes.
The day was filled with fun and relaxing activities, including a soothing yoga class, an exciting tour of the Eco Farm, meditation, a meditation music for wellbeing by our band and of course a delicious and nutritious feast.
All volunteers received a certificate at the end of the day in gratitude and appreciation for their extraordinary support. It was a fantastic day and we hope that we can turn this event into a successful tradition for the years to come.
The #ThankYouDay was funded by Virgin Media O2 Together Fund who granted us £1000 towards our free wellbeing services for the community during the summer and to organise this wonderful event that brought our community, volunteers and service users together.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions that limit the number of people who can attend the events, we have decided to extend this event over the next few Sundays, so that more people can enjoy a day of relaxation and wellbeing. We are also extending an invitation to our service users, so they can meet in person all the people in person who have been supporting them.
If you have volunteered, donated or used our services, we would like to warmly invite you to book a FREE space on the 11th or 25th of July.
